YDWA Goes to YDA

YDA San AntonioThe Young Democrats of Washington traveled to San Antonio to participate in the Young Democrats of America’s national convention. There we saw leaders of the Texas Democratic Party, including Mayor Julian Castro who gave the keynote speech. We also met delegates from across the country, attended trainings from industry leaders, and participated in electing the new leaders for YDA.

Also, we ate amazing food, nothing but Tex Mex and BBQ.

The Young Democrats of Washington were proud to vote in support of the YDA Progress slate, lead by Atima Omara who was elected President and is the first African American president in YDA’s 81 year history.

Thank you to Drew Pollum, who took the lead on organizing ten Young Democrats from Washington’s attendance and coordinated logistics for travel and stay while in San Antonio. He also helped to lobby for YDA to have their Fall Meeting in Seattle.
