Felisa Gonzalez currently studies Psychology and Social Sciences at Heritage University. She hopes to go onto graduate school to research politics in social services settings. In the summer of 2015, Felisa rechartered the Yakima chapter during the excitement of the ACLU ruling that led to the election of three Latina city councilwomen for the first time in Yakima’s history. Her enthusiasm for social justice issues was fueled by the great office staff of the State Senator Pramila Jayapal, while interning in 2015.It sparked her wish to work with others to restructure current societal systems to be more effective and equitable towards all people. Felisa loves to crochet, lead guided-meditation sessions and organize community service projects

Akua Asare-Konadu was born and raised in Beaverton, Oregon and has lived in Tacoma, Washington since her college years. She earned her bachelors degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from University of Washington Tacoma. Her passion for politics stems from her early college years as the Legislative Affairs Chair, and she aspires to work in public office one day. One interesting fact about her is the name Akua comes from Ghana and means “girl born on Wednesday.”
