The Young Democrats of Washington will be gathering in Olympia on President's day, February 15th, to lobby their legislators on a variety of pertinent political issues. We'll be supporting good bills and speaking against bills that we want to see go down in flames. ;) This legislative session is incredibly important with the state budget as grim as it is; we need to get down there an make our voices heard!

The State party is holding it annual Democratic Crab Feed after lobby day on February 15th. Special guests this year include Senator Patty Murray, Governor Chris Gregoire, and Congressmen Rick Larsen, Jim McDermott, and Adam Smith. The event will be at at the Saint Martin's University Pavilion (5300 Pacific Ave SE, Lacey, WA 98503). The Crab Feed begins at 5:00pm. There's a special rate for YDs. Time for another Young Dems meeting! We will be voting on our changes to our constitution, so everybody needs to show up, if possible.

The National Day of Silence is a student-led event that brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. See Moreaddress the problem of anti-LGBT behavior. The event is designed to illustrate the silencing effect of this bullying and harassment on LGBT students and those perceived to be LGBT.

Come join the Snohomish County Young Democrats on the upstairs floor of Brooklyn Brothers Pizza, on Tuesday, the 23rd for a general membership meeting. We will hear from Larry Kalb, who's running as a Democrat in the 2nd Congressional District. Sean Debutts from the Puget Sound Blood Center will also be joining us to discuss running a blood drive in April. Hope to see you all there!
