Washington State Democrats convention, Young Democrat style!

IMG_7502[1]The Young Democrats were out in force at the Washington State Democrats Convention in Spokane. The event started with our booth, where we shared our plans for the year with the public. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and said hello to Lynda!

The 2014-2015 priorities are to have a day of action for each of our 7 priority campaigns, support our caucus chair’s in completing caucus projects, connecting young Democrats with Democratic establishments like the state central committee and the Young Democrats of America, and building the infrastructure needed to leave the organization stronger than how we found it.caucus meeting

Young Democrats attended caucus meetings, trainings and committees. A great group of Young Democrats attended the YDWA meeting to learn more about our organization. It was great to meet new Young Democrats from across the state active in the Democratic party!

IMG_7518[1]After our meeting YDs had a great time at the VIP reception and convention banquet, where we ran into Senator Maria Cantwell, who graciously participated in our #CongressionalSelfie campaign! Not to be outdone, YDWA VP of Finance Angela, who couldn’t be at the Spokane convention, got a #CongressionalSelfie with Senator Patty Murray in King County’s east side. Check it out on facebook!

IMG_7548[1]During the committee meeting, we heard from our Governor Jay Inslee, who rocked the crowd with his speech about economic development through green energy. We also heard from other great Democrats, like Senator Murray, who riled up the crowd before many hours of discussion about our platform and resolutions – we’ll skip that part because we already lived through it once!

Finally, we wrapped the entire event up at the Spokane County Democrat’s crab feed! We’re so thankful to the Spokane County Democrats for their long time support of Young Democrats and their amazing job helping out with the convention festivities!
