Congrats to our national committeman Nick Ramirez for being appointed to the DNC Youth Council!
Nicholas Ramirez was appointed and confirmed to the DNC Youth Council as the At-Large Representative for the West at the meeting of the DNC in Atlanta, GA on August 21st. The DNCYC is currently working on a plan for youth inclusion goals for delegates for the 2016 Democratic National Convention and is collaborating with state parties to promote youth inclusion at the state level.
The Democratic National Committee’s Youth Coordinating Council (more commonly called the Youth Council) was made an official council of the DNC in December 2005. The membership of the Youth Council consists of all DNC members under age 36, as well as 8 at-large members selected from each of the DNC’s four regions (East, Midwest, South, and West).
The Democratic National Committee’s Youth Coordinating Council—commonly known as the Youth Council—was made an official council of the Democratic National Committee in December 2005, with a goal of increasing involvement of young people in the Democratic Party.
Every year since its creation, the Youth Council has become more and more active and has helped maintain high participation rates and foster greater political involvement. Young people have had new opportunities to become more active with local and national Democrats, and help shape our party across the country for decades to come.
