YDWA at the JSA Convention
Last Saturday, Ian Jacobson, Laura Williams, Josh Cole and Sarah Kohout were invite to a table at the Junior Statesmen of America (JSA) convention in SeaTac. We were invited by the convention planners, all student volunteers, to fight political apathy in high school students.
We had a great time staffing the table and talking to the attendees about their passions and what drove them to participate in JSA. Many of the students talked about their passion about gun rights—both those who wanted to see changes to the current system and those who worried about what those changes might mean. Many students also talked about their own attempts to fight apathy by taking leadership roles in the JSA and in their schools.
It was amazing to hear from so many high school students who have stepped up to participate. Thank you so much for having us JSA!
