Convention Keynote Announced
YDWA is thrilled to announce Cameron Whitten as this year’s convention keynote!
Cameron Whitten is a civic entrepreneur, storyteller, and Executive Director of Know Your City. He is currently finishing a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics at Portland State University and has been engaged with nonprofit, civic, and political causes in Portland for his entire adult life. His passion for civic empowerment and human rights was catalyzed in 2011 during the national Occupy Movement. He ran for Mayor of Portland at the age of 20, and is also known for conducting a 55 day hunger strike outside of City Hall in 2012 to raise awareness about homelessness and housing justice.
Cameron serves on the Board of Trustees for Pioneer Courthouse Square, the Multnomah County Oregon Historical Society Levy Oversight Committee, the Bureau Advisory Committee for the Portland Bureau of Transportation, and the Housing Development Committee for REACH Community Development Corporation. Cameron’s biggest pride is that he’s a first-time uncle of three year-old Dominick Daniel Whitten.
We can’t wait for you all to join us and Cameron in Vancouver Feb. 26-28th! Make sure and register soon and book your hotel room!
