The Communications Department is the public face of YDWA. Serving under Melissa Boles, Vice President of Communications, the Communications Department includes:
Coleman DeLeon Jones, Digital Media Director
I was raised by Rainier District Little League in the heart of South Seattle. I woke up on November 9th feeling the urge to voice my political opinions to a little larger crowd than just whoever attends Sunday dinners at my mom’s house and whoever hasn’t yet unfollowed me on Twitter. I spend business hours working in marketing and operations. I prefer to spend my evenings with garlic fries at SafeCo Field, at local rap concerts, searching for what to watch and not actually watching anything on Netflix, and now…being in attendance at KCYD and YDWA meetings.
Spencer Lively, Current Affairs Director
Spencer Lively comes from Mount Vernon in the beautiful Skagit Valley. He recently moved from Tulip Town to the city of Seattle to attend the University of Washington and study Political Science and French. After volunteering with Planned Parenthood and Teen Council in high school, he gained a fervor to make a difference for those who do not have the resources to do so. With that same ferocity, he currently serves as Vice Chair of the Young Democrats of Skagit County where he brings some of that small town charm to the big city, working to ensure that everyone’s voice is heard loud and clear. Finally, as a queer person, he is always working to ensure the fight for equality begun at Stonewall presses on to further protect gender identity and expression, as well as sexual orientation.
When not tabling in the rain, you can find Spencer procrastinating by re-watching “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia”, being stuck in traffic, or exploring the gorgeous PNW.
